What is SkyCam and how does it work?

SkyCam Productions is fast, affordable aerial photography - without leaving the ground!

SkyCam Productions uses a professional standard digital camera mounted on top of a 20m telescopic mast.

The mast rises from the 4WD set-up and contains a moveable platform that enables 360° movability. The cradle can also move the camera up and down in addition to the inbuilt optical zoom function.

Using radio receivers and transmitters, the camera is operated from a hand-held controller on the ground that has a built in monitor to ensure exactly the right photograph is taken.

What are the benefits of using SkyCam Productions?

Aircraft are restricted to minimum heights, which means too much elevation and not enough detail.

SkyCam Productions provides aerial photography without the need for aeroplanes, helicopters, balloons, cherry pickers or cranes. It is a timely and cost effective method of gaining photography with a bird's eye view.

Because it is economical, you can use SkyCam Productions in situations you would not normally consider aerial photography.

Selling a property that has a great canal or Gold Coast skyline view? Why not show that view in addition to the house.

Do you only do aerial photography?

SkyCam Productions offers a number of services in addition to aerial photography.

Where can SkyCam be used?

The SkyCam Productions operation is fully equipped on a 4WD giving it improved mobility and accessibility. Hence SkyCam can be used anywhere a 4WD can go.

However, due to the equipment's use of high tech electronics, it cannot be used in the rain and high winds may also restrict the height to which the SkyCam mast can be extended.

How long does it take to set up SkyCam?

It doesn't take very long to set up the SkyCam Productions operation. Once we have arrived and established the ideal location, it only takes about five minutes to set up the equipment.

Can you remove objects such as powerlines from the photographs?

Yes. SkyCam Productions' fully trained photographic restylists can remove objects that detract from the shot. Even grey skies can be made blue.
